Wilkinson, D.C. "Ducky" D. C. "Ducky" Wilkinson, 87, died March 1, 2009 at home of natural causes. He was born September 1, 1921 in El Dorado, Arkansas. A long time Dallas resident, Ducky was a decorated World War II Marine, attended SMU on the GI Bill and retired from the U. S. Postal Service in 1976. He was active in many charitable organizations, most notably those serving the needs of Marines and their families. Ducky held local, state and national offices in the Marine Corps League and was a founding member of the Leatherneck Foundation of Texas. Ducky was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Bennett Temple Wilkinson. He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Jacqueline Iames Pace Wilkinson; daughters Carol Boultinghouse of Dallas, Dede Wilkinson of Freeport, Texas, and Ann Wilkinson of Sitka, Alaska; grandchildren Elizabeth Hesteande Rubio and husband John of Austin, and Brian Boultinghouse of Dallas; stepchildren Jeff Pace and wife Sonia of Spring, Texas, Nancy Kifer and husband Kevin of Royse City, Texas; several stepgrandchildren and many loving friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Leatherneck Foundation of Texas, c/o Helen Hicks, 600 Freeman Drive, Garland, Texas 75040. Military burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas on March 18 at 1:00 PM, followed by a "Semper Fi Sendoff" at the VFW located at 9179 Garland Road, Dallas.
