TOYS FOR TOTS will be the weekend of December 11th, 12th, & 13th, 2009 at the McDonalds in Mesquite. Address is 18751 LBJ Freeway; exit Town Center @ South I-635, Mesquite, TX 75150.  Need lots of volunteers for this 3 day event, thanks to Dennis and David we always have plenty of food.  Setup of site will be Thursday afternoon (10th) TBD. Times will be Friday (11th) 1000 to 1800, Saturday (12th) 0800 to 1800 and Sunday (13th) 1000 to 1700.  Please let me know what days and times you can volunteer. CHRISTMAS/OFFICER INSTALLATION DINNER You’re invited to the Christmas/Officer installation dinner Sunday, December 20th, 2009, located at the Knights of Columbus 10110 Shoreview Rd., Dallas, TX 75238.  At the intersection of Northwest Hwy and Ferndale, go north at Ferndale and left on Shoreview.  Cost is $10.00 per person, cocktails start at 1300 and start going thru buffet line at 1400.   Uniform of the day is red jacket with cover or appropriated civilian attire with cover.

About the Marine Corps League
The Marine Corps League was founded in 1923 by Major General Commandant John A. Lejune. The total membership is nearly 56,000 and is comprised of honorably discharged, active duty and Reserve Marines with 90 days of service or more, and retired Marines. It includes officer, enlisted, male and female members.
The Marine Corps League is headed by an elected National Commandant, with 14 elected national staff officers who serve as trustees. Day-to-day operations are under the control of the executive director who supervises the day to day performance of the national headquarters staff, located at 8626 Lee Highway in Fairfax, Virginia.

Big D Detachment
The Big D Detachment is an active unit of the Marine Corps League. In keeping with the leagues mission we provide camaraderie and assistance to Marines, as well as to their widows and orphans; and work to preserve the traditions of the U.S. Marine Corps.  It was founded on 12 December 1972
